Re: CE-ESR 52.5.1

Yes, 52.5.2 was released. I suppose my point was that you were asking for FMF 52.5.1 when 52.5.1 didn't exist and even now 52.5.1 doesn't exist. Just wait for stuff to actually come out before asking for an update. It always takes time for DP to do his work, if it took me time to chase down that the...

Re: CE-ESR 52.5.1

Are you sure about that? Pretty sure 52.5.0 is the current official ESR release. Otherwise this link would have information: https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/52.5.1/releasenotes/ Similar to how there's release information for 52.5.0: https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/52.5.0/releasenotes/ ES...

Re: 64 Bit (x64): Planned? Are there advantages?

Basically the biggest advantage (that I'm aware of) to x64 is the ability to access more than 2GB of RAM per firefox.exe process. 32-bit Windows applications are limited to 2GB because the other 2GB is used by Windows for hardware and similar functions. In the legacy versions of Firefox every tab ru...

Re: Firefox 0 day

The 50.0.1 vulnerability was introduced in 49, which is why 45 didn't need an update to fix it. 45 did include the 50.0.2 vulnerability, which is why 45.5.1 was released. So 50.0.2 and 45.5.1 both fix the same vulnerability and there won't be a 45.5.2 unless another vulnerability is uncovered before...

Re: Any progress on ESR 45.4?

You could install the CE version. If none of the CE-specific (meaning they're not present in a normal Windows installation) registry keys are set it'll behave like non-CE version.

Re: Corporate IT says FrontMotion not supported

It's funny, my anti-malware group policies block executables from running under the user folder. Guess what installs to the user folder by default, because Google wants to bypass company policy and administrative control? Chrome. There is the Chrome for Work version that installs to program files bu...

Re: FF 45 ESR MSI

Or you could do what every other company is doing, which is avoiding Windows 10 with a ten foot pole due to all the compatibility issues. Was Vista really so long ago that nobody remembers skipping a Windows revision due to Microsoft refusing to listen to their customers? I see no evidence of the pr...

Re: Hosting an update server

You should push out Java updates to the clients. It'll shock them into thinking FMF updates are amazingly quick. We just tell people in advance that updates are being pushed out and to reboot their system before leaving for the day, get in early the next day, or suck it up and go get a cup of coffee...

Re: Automatic updates not working

It's not possible, at least using Mozilla's servers, because these are all custom builds of Firefox. As a result Mozilla's servers cannot be used to update them. If you want to update them, just push out new versions via group policy. When each system is rebooted it'll install the version you specif...

Re: Disabling / Restricting Flash Plugin using GPO Template

There is an extension called click to play per element which does an admirable job of making all plugin content click to play, though admittedly it does break some sites (the object you need to click to play ends up being placed off screen for "control freak" reasons). While that extension...

Re: Next ESR Release

Since 38.0.1 is out, that means most of the hard work (getting his patches to work with 38) are done, so I would guess 38.1... but he may release both. Really like the redesigned frontmotion site. The download page for CE was getting to be a bit much, putting downloads behind versions was a great wa...

Re: Corporate IT says FrontMotion not supported

Google Chrome is based on the Chromium open source project. The lion's share of what makes Chrome Chrome comes from Chromium, they just add some closed-source undocumented components (some of which are amusingly referred to in some circles as the "botnet", since they make Chrome send data ...

Re: Corporate IT says FrontMotion not supported

You should tell your corporate IT that Chrome is also open source, and definitely isn't supported like the other browsers. Chrome is designed to work with Google websites. That's it. Compatibility with any other company's websites are incidental. Chrome breaks websites far more often than Firefox. I...

Re: new questions

The ADM/ADMX files are separate downloads on the same page you downloaded the MSI. Scroll down to the very bottom of that page. If you need help installing the ADM/ADMX files after downloading, Google should be your friend. Basically you just need to copy them to a particular directory on your serve...

You'll probably want to ask questions about FMLogin in one of the FMLogin forums, this one is for Firefox.

Click on board index then scroll down.
