Virus alert message with FMFirefoxCE-35.0.1

Post by paulj » Thu Feb 05, 2015 5:50 am

We're now seeing the same issue in 35.0.1 as we'd seen previously in 33.0.1 (Symantec Endpoint Protection quarantines updater.exe) and the installation via GPO fails on our machines:

Risk,Filename,Original Location,Status,Date
"Suspicious.Cloud","updater.exe","C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\","Infected"

Would you be able to sign updater.exe again?

Thanks

Hi!

We are having the same problem with customized FMFirefoxCE-35.0.1-en-US.msi but the executable is firefox.exe.

This is what Symantec says:
„Security Risk Found!Suspicious.Cloud.5.A in File: C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe by: Auto-Protect scan. Action: Quarantine succeeded : Access denied. Action Description: The file was quarantined successfully.“

If there's an update coming for the package, then I'll wait for it. Other solution would be to ask Security team to whitelist the executable, which we woulnd not want to do.

Thanks!
