RDP bug on 1.01.4.344

Postby ufgeorge » Fri May 13, 2005 12:58 am

Dear Sir,

FrontMotion Login has some RDP bugs on last version. It seems you already fix them on 1.01.4.344! Greate job!

I try this version and find one more bug about RDP.

My OS is Win XP SP2. For some reason, I did not use Windows Shell (Explorer.exe) as my normal shell.
I did 2 steps:
1.I modify "HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\Shell" Key value to some non-exist file! After done this, all user will not have any windows shell after user login.
2.I add one schedule job to run my own program when user login.

Then Windows will not have any shell but when user login, he will saw my program to use.

After I install FrontMotion, it seems OK. But there is one trouble about RDP!
If power on machine and don't login from local. User use RDP login to this machine, my program seems does not run. At this time, even I logon locally, still no any action. I have to Ctrl-Alt-Delete and choose reboot this machine.

If power on machine and login from local first. Then user use RDP to logon. All OK...

Thanks for this good software.

George

Hum.. out of curiosity, why not just put your shell program in HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\Shell? Also, which shell are you using and which scheduler are you using? I like to reproduce the problem.

The reason I can't put it in Shell Registry is because the program has a self-update function! If I put it in Shell registry, then it will remain in memory that will failed update itself!

The Schedule function I use is Windows Schedule job in control panel.

There is no real shell program. In the Shell registry, I put a file name that does not exist!! It means Windows will not load any shell from Shell registry! After user login, Windows will run the program from Schedule setting.
