Firefox 10.0.2 and ADMs

Post by dude606 » Thu Mar 15, 2012 1:37 pm

Two things one, where can I regular check for ADM updates? Is there a site or link I can visit just like the MSI releases?

Second, ever since I rolled out the 10.0.2 version my ADMs don't seem to apply. No RSOP errors or anything, just doesn't apply.

Thoughts or issues I'm not aware of? Does it matter if I used the ESR or regular versions of firefox?

Redownload the 10.0.2. There was a period of time, where there was a build that wasn't GP enabled. The adm files are also on the same download page, http://www.frontmotion.com/FMFirefoxCE/ ... efoxce.htm

Hello DraconPern,

Question, I re-downloaded and distributed the 10.0.2 non ESR version and still don't see the GP applying correctly on machines I know have installed it...

Do I have to also install the new ADMs? If I'm running the older ADMs does that have a negative affect?
Or...Do the ADMs require a full on reboot after installing the 10.0.2 non ESR version before the GP will apply correctly?

If it requires a full on reboot...I may have to wait and see the results next week.

Thanks again in advance for your help!

Regards,

And one last question if I may, if the non ESR clients upgrade to 11 on their own will the GP apply correctly?

Ok - I just went backwards to 9.0.1 and despite rsop showing the ADMs applying I don't have my proxy network settings grayed out as not being a selectable option still!

Not sure whats going on. I've got the logon logoff and boot up boot down scripts applying and everything...

Any help is much appreciated.

I'd first check which version of the Firefox MSI you are installing. Make sure it has Community Edition somewhere in the name.

Thanks JPA - Think I got it worked out. It was something with the computer bootup scripts not applying...Should know for sure here shortly.

Alright, I've got this mostly worked out but I'm still noticing some inconsistencies as it relates to the proxy section being locked down.

Any advice here would be great. I've got the scripts running at boot up/down, login/logout and in 99% of my machines its working beautifully.

Seems like there are a couple of older ones that despite appearing ok when you check rsop, the proxy section is still open...

Thoughts, suggestions, musings etc. all welcome and thanks in advance.

I would try creating a new Firefox profile on the afflicted machines and test to see if the problem occurs with a new profile. It may be related to a problem with their preexisting profile and not necessarily an indicator of a problem with the ADM.

Hi,
On my side, I've been tired of dealing with IE and FireFox CE's proxy so I decided to configure FireFoxCE as Use System Proxy Settings and configure the proxy using a GPP on IE.
This is much easier and works 100% of time.
I hope I'm clear enough but if I'm not, let me know, I'll try to explain using screenshots.
