Re: Community Editions
Thanks, csk! How long has this been out while I was just dutifully checking the Frontmotion home page and Twitter every day? For the lazy Americans out there, the en-US edition link is http://hicap.frontmotion.com.s3.amazonaws.com/Firefox/FMFirefoxCE-29.0.1/FMFirefoxCE-29.0.1-en-US.msi . If you are ...

Re: Firefox uninstall
In Group Policy Preferences, select FIles. Right click and select New | File. Change the action to Delete.
Test before deploying, obviously.

I'm not an emoji guy, but the one with the blush seems appropriate right about now.

Re: Firefox 25 out
I was intrigued to see with version 25.0 that, for the first time, the Frontmotion-delivered Firefox has the familiar orange fox icon. Is this permanent? The users are going to ask me.

Re: ESR 24.0.0 & ESR 17.0.9 out SEP 17
We normally push updates to the latest Frontmotion version of Firefox (20 to 21, to 22, etc.) about every six weeks as you publish them.
Is 24 ESR the natural successor to 23? Or should I wait a few more days to see a non-ESR 24?
Thanks!

Re: FF 21 version is out
Add me as another data point of people having trouble with the start page set to a bad URL after upgrading to version 21.0.
When I look at the Options | General page, the home page is set to : FrontMotion Firefox Start Page (all in italics). I don't set the Home Page using Group Policy.

I'm not seeing anything on the download page for the FMFirefoxCE-18.0.2 edition. Anyone else have this issue?

Re: Disabling Plug-Ins (specifically java) via Group Policy
I just circulated this the instructions from CERT https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/How%20to%20turn%20off%20Java%20applets to my users, but I will have to follow up. I also disabled Java in IE with Group Policy Preferences by setting the value of registry key HKLM\Software\Wow6432Node\JavaSoft\Ja...

Maybe it will be out on Patch Tuesday, and I'll only need to demand one reboot from my users.

Re: Firefox 11
I would cheerfully pay $250/year to get Community Edition released as an MSI within a week of release. I know I can't legitimately complain about what I got for free, but I'm starting to get nervous about all the users I support, stuck with an insecure version for three weeks now.

Re: Firefox 5.0
@DraconPern - the cost of outdated Flash is not trivial. It's a serious security problem. Using a transform to prevent Flash from installing with FFCE is not a big deal, so admins can make their own decision about how to handle the tradeoff between security and convenience, but I won't miss it when ...

Re: Firefox 5.0
@JG -
I used Orca to create an MST to disable Flash as follows: In the Feature table, set F_Flash Level to 6
If you've made transforms before, this should get you where you need to be. If not, reply and I will try to create some step-by-step instructions.

Re: Default Browser (default INSTALLEVEL changed in 3.6.16)
Here's another thing to pay attention to: I had been frustrated for months because every time I used Group Policy to deploy a new MSI for Adobe Flash Player, the ActiveX version would work but the Plugin would leave the old Flash Player still alive, even though I was uninstalling it with my GPO. I w...
