Re: Disable AutoUpdate during Install

Auto update is disabled by default by the mozilla.cfg file. Install (or admin install with msiexec /a) and review Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\mozilla.cfg and you should see lockPref("app.update.enabled", false); lockPref("app.update.autoUpdateEnabled", false); lockPref("extensions.update.enabled",...

Re: difference between packages to download

Version number and all that entails. FMFirefoxCE-27 is for the bleeding edge folks. Although it should really have been updated to 28 by now. FMFirefoxCEESR-24.4 is for those who don't like change so much but still want a supported version . FMFirefoxCE-3.6.28 is for people who really don't like cha...

Re: Is there a way to disable "Import Wizard"?

Yes, create an override.ini file in the application root directory with the following contents:

Code: Select all

[XRE]
EnableProfileMigrator=0

Re: 17.0.7 similar to 22.0.1?

I read that multiple times and just about the time I thought I understood what you're saying I'd read it again and think I didn't really get it. So if the following is obvious to you then I really didn't understand what you're asking. Anyway.... Basically if you don't like the rapid changes happenin...

Re: Firefox 17.0.1 and above - deactivate "save password"

If you have the tools to repackage the MSI then you might as well just edit the cfg file and save the new msi.

My original procedure was to create an Administrative install point, edit what you want and then install from there. No need to repackage.

Re: Program Folder is cleared during install and uninstall

Off the top of my head one of the steps in the MSI uninstall routine is a full directory delete. Remove that with an MST or edit the MSI and see what happens.

Re: FF 21 version is out

Yeah, I retested in my clean WinXP VM with Firefox-21.0-en-US.msi and still get "The address isn't valid" error page. Also tested FMFirefoxCE-21.0-en-US.msi with the same results.

I'll try again with 21 and see if it was an anomaly.

Re: FF 21 version is out

Maybe it's just me but about:config and about:newtab both give invalid url messages rather than the expected behavior. Rolled back to 20.0.1 and they work as expected.

Re: firefox.adm + Firefox 5.0.1 + Group Policy for SSO

Try using FrontMotion CE 20. If it works then maybe those policies weren't supported way back in mid 2011.

Re: having trouble deploying firefox via GPO

It looks like I've cheated a bit and set the share to "Everyone - ReadOnly" and the GPO Security Filtering to "Authenticated Users". I would think that if this worked you could test locking this down a bit more by using "Domain Computers" in the GPO filtering and share.

Re: having trouble deploying firefox via GPO

I think you've got something simple not quite correct. Software deployed in the Computer config of a GPO runs under the SYSTEM account which is not subject to UAC. I would try setting the Network share to ReadOnly Everyone and see what happens. Make sure to follow the earlier advice and look for pro...

Re: Firefox 17.0.1 and above - deactivate "save password"

Test this as I haven't. Administrative install of Firefox (msiexec /a FM.msi) Edit the FM18.0.1\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\mozilla.cfg file Add a new lockPref: lockPref("signon.rememberSignons", false); Install from the admin install point If you do it this way users can't enable remember passwor...

Re: .mkdir.done

Review the detailed log of the Frontmotion install.
msiexec /i FM16.msi /L*v logfile.txt

Can you successfully install the normal Firefox 16 setup installer on the problem machine?
