Amen on the undocumented source code. Chrome has been known to be notoriously slow, buggy even on the first "stable" releases...

I have the same issue as well with version 12. Is there a setting in the .adm file we can use to override this?

You need to use the Mozilla.adm file instead.

Mozilla Advance Options/Locked Settings/network.proxy.type

Change it to "5" (no quotes)

Which "settings" button are you referring to?

Have you tried setting the Automatic update/Add-on settings in firefox.adm or mozilla.adm and adding those Administrative Templates via GPO? Both templates are available where you download the FrontMotion Community Edition.
