I think that is very possible, the only problem I see is that the network connection may not be up when you needed on start up since it is done async.

The fade out idea is good, but I think it should be left up to the theme developer to put it in. Thoughts?

Using the logfile to report bugs

Hello, just to remind everyone, the login creates a log file at c:\fmlogin.txt to make debugging easier. It logs function names, parameters, and inputs inaddition to putting a time stamp and process information. Password fields are obviously not included. If possible, it would greatly accelerate the...

Hello, can you send me the log file at c:\fmlogin.txt? It contains timestamps of what the program is doing and will let me know which part it is hanging on.

Thanks for the bug report! Is it possible for you to send the log file located at c:\fmlogin.txt via email? It would be great if you can compress it too. Please send it to eric@frontmotion.com . Alternatively, you can search the file for "WlxActivateUserShell" (not "FMWlxActivateUserShell") and list...

Looks like I am getting mixed reports of having it work in Win2k3.

Can you see if a log file was generated (c:\fmlogin.txt)? If it's there, please send the file to eric@frontmotion.com (please compress it if possible). I will see what the problem is.

Thanks!

DOCa Cola, I am curious which version of W2k3 server you are using. I just got an email confirming a working configuration. It was on a normal Windows 2003 Server in Standalong configuration.

Can you check to see if the control panel applet is listed under the 'Performance and Maintenace' section? If not, let me know which version you are running (It is shown on the bottom of the default login).

Yes you can.

The .fla files on the site are the Flash source files to the themes for people who like to see how they work. The login uses the standard swf format only.

The files are in your C:\WINDOWS\system32\FMLogin\Themes directory

Noted! I have been thinking about multiple monitor support (I actually develop it on a multimonitor system), but I wasn't sure what kind of information or graphics to put on the other monitors. Having just another duplicate running no the other screen seems kind of boring. Any suggestions? Ok, I wil...

D'oh, yeah, those are debuggins options. 'll take them out on the next one. You can fix the problem by booting from the WinXP CD and use the recovery console mode. Since it is a strip down command console, the easiest way is to copy fmlogin.dll to fmlogin2.dll in c:\windows\system32. Type these comm...
