Re: Default Browser (default INSTALLEVEL changed in 3.6.16)
I went into my Frontmotion Firefox MSI with Orca and set the INSTALLLEVEL for Flash (under Features) to 0. Now Frontmotion Firefox deploys without Flash Player, but that's okay because I deploy that separately. I won't really know for sure that this works until the next Flash Player vulnerability i...

Re: Sites / Domain Lockdown
Is there a way (via GP or other) to lock down (FM)Firefox to only one domain? As far as I know, such functionality doesn't exist in Firefox. Typically, what one does is to use a firewall/proxy/etc to restrict all traffic from a computer or user to approved sites. But you want to allow browsing for ...

For those watching this thread but not the 3.6.15 thread: The MSI for 3.6.15 is posed.

Firefox 3.6.15 is out
Firefox 3.6.15 is out (Fri 4 Mar 2011), right on the heals of 3.5.14 (Tue 1 Mar 2011).
* Release notes
* Bug #629030, the JRE thing
There may be other changes in .15 vs .14; I'm not getting sensible answers from Bugzilla. I think that's my fault, but I'm not sure.

Re: Firefox 3.6.12 Crashing
I second the idea of an unstable add-on or plug-in. In addition to creating a new, clean profile, try disabling all extensions and plug-ins and seeing if that makes a difference. Are you submitting crash reports? If so, enter "about:crashes" in the address bar, and you should get a list. Follow the ...

Re: adm settings not being read
Have installed FF 3.6.12, using the MSI file, have also applied the provided ADM file, and imported into my GPO. You have to use the FrontMotion Firefox Community Edition build, not the regular Firefox MSI build. The later is just a standard Firefox, packaged as an MSI. The former includes changes ...

Re: Issue with the Version Check: Yahoo Mail and others
I presume you are using the "FrontMotion Firefox Community Edition" (FMFxCE). That's the one with the plain blue globe icon, instead of the Firefox orange-fox-around-globe logo. What's most likely happening is, the website is being overly sensitive to the User-Agent string being sent by the browser....

Re: 3.6.12 is out
Would it be reasonably easy to produce one MSI with Flash included and another MSI without Flash? Personally, I think FrontMotion should get away from packaging Flash with their standard MSIs. (The custom packager service is another story.) Flash updates too often, and on a different schedule vs Fi...

Re: 3.6.12 is out
I can confirm that the Flash plugin is the old one. I tried dropping the mentioned F_Flash from the Features with an mst file. That resulted in an error (2711), so I skipped it. Hmmm, just checked our notes, and it appears I misspoke. We don't drop the row. We change the "Level" column from "3" to ...

Re: 3.6.12 is out
FYI the flash version is 10.1.85.3 rather than the latest 10.1.102.64. FWIW, I highly recommend installing and managing Flash separately from Firefox. Flash gets updated even more often then Firefox most of the time. Adobe publishes MSIs for both the ActiveX and NSPlugin flavors of Flash. They're b...

Re: A few Questions
One more question, are the msi releases compatible with the ADM template provided as well? Configuration via Group Policy required some minor modifications to Firefox, so you have to use the "FrontMotion Community Edition" to use the ADM templates. Per Mozilla rules, FrontMotion can't use the "genu...

Re: A few Questions
Am i right in thinking that it is just case of linking the MSI package to a group policy object and then creating a deployment group which will deploy the software to the computers that are entered as members as long as they are a member of the OU that the GPo has the relationship with? Exactly rig...
