Re: 3.6.28, 11.0, and ESR 10.0.3
Yeah, it's the same here, the school where I work is running lean (no budget for software purchases for this year) so I just ponied up cash out of my pocket in appreciation for all your hard work. Depending on how forgiving the IRS is next week I may be able to pony up some more. The only alternativ...

Re: Firefox 10.0.2 and ADMs
I would try creating a new Firefox profile on the afflicted machines and test to see if the problem occurs with a new profile. It may be related to a problem with their preexisting profile and not necessarily an indicator of a problem with the ADM.

Re: Security-Updates for 10 ESR?
I'm intending on using 10.0.x ESR, which means 4 (3?) updates each year, and won't have to worry about profile corruption that can happen with major release upgrades... not until the next ESR comes out (FF 16? 18? Somewhere around there). Of course with 10.0.3 ESR out now, I'm hoping to roll that ou...

Re: Security-Updates for 10 ESR?
If you enable channel updates you will update to the channel release. However since you're not talking about a channel release, you're talking about a custom build, it's possible that the channel release update won't apply properly to the custom build, yielding an unholy partially-patched monster. I...

Re: Firefox and Adobe Flash
I run a plain Firefox 10 on my desktop, and I've noticed Flash content crashing a lot more often under recent releases. I don't know whether to point the finger at Adobe or Mozilla, but I guess my point is that Flash content is inherently less stable than it used to be. In fact it often brings my de...

The ESR download page:

Re: 10.0.2 and search providers
Wouldn't bother me one bit, but, well, I have to preconfigure the profiles so I couldn't use it. That's the great thing about default settings - if you don't like it, you can always change them.

Re: Save Bookmarks through GPO, Win7, how?
Oh, hopefully you cleared the contents of the cache folder, no point in distributing a stale cache. And the reason you're copying the contents of both folders is essentially to set everyone's profile folders to the same name (so one randomly-generated name for your network). Ideally, if you're a mad...

Re: Save Bookmarks through GPO, Win7, how?
Here's one way to do it... First, make sure everyone has the same profile structure. This typically means having a folder on a network share that contains the appropriate file/folder information that you need to push to clients. There's two Firefox folders under each user folder, one in Local Settin...

Re: update on 10.0.1
Considering 10.0.1 and 10.0.2 were security releases, you'd be a fool to roll out a version with known security holes to your users. Security should never be an afterthought. Hope the move went well DraconPern. I swear every time I move it's going to be my last... then, over time, the memories fade ...

Re: Firefox 9.0
I was going to suggest not even looking at a new release until x.0.1 comes out yesterday, but got stymied on other tabs and forgot all about this one.

Re: MSI Installing on XP, but not Windows 7
I just deployed it on a couple labs of Windows 7 machines, so it's installing fine over here. I did do it as an upgrade over a 6.0.2 install, though I'll find out if it installs fresh after I roll out the last 6 new systems tomorrow (gulp). I'd check permissions on your share, at the very least try ...

Re: Disable the What's New Page
The Community Edition does have both startup.homepage_override_url and browser.startup.homepage_override.mstone GPOs, located under System in Mozilla Advanced Options. However if you just set the browser.startup.homepage_override.mstone GPO to Enable & with "ignore" in the text field, it won't open ...
