Re: ENABLE import wizard on first run or manual import
We have a good 800 machines so have some stringent testing to do along with web applications built and tested for Firefox 6... Welcome to rapid release . With 800 machines you'd better thoroughly test install and uninstall of FrontMotion Firefox releases so you don't get stuck when something doesn'...

Re: ENABLE import wizard on first run or manual import
You don't say in your report but I'm assuming you're using some flavor of version 6. Try 7.0.1.

Re: MSI Installing on XP, but not Windows 7
I'd check the event log on the Windows 7 machines for clues.

Re: FMFirefox Community Edition - IE losing default browser
The easiest way to figure out what's causing the "IE not default browser" is to get a tool that allows you to take and diff registry snapshots. The tool must handle binary changes so you can't export to a text file and diff that. I use InstallWatchPro which is an ancient and no longer developed tool...

Firefox 7 Available
Just got Firefox 7 prompt while running in Windows 7 as Admin user so apparently it's now available.
I guess I should have set app.update.enabled = false in the pref\firefox.js.

Re: Firefox CE 6.0.2 on Windows 2008 R2 domain
You need to go through the WinXP event logs for clues why the install is failing. Maybe the WinXP machines don't have access to the share from which you're deploying FF?

Re: Firefox CE 6.0.2 on Windows 2008 R2 domain
I would try to install the FF602CE version manually on a WinXP box and see if it works or has errors. If you have errors with a manual install the GPO deploy definitely won't work.

Re: Grouped windows in CE changes to Tumucumaque
So I went and installed FM6.0.2 and tested on Windows XP and my Firefox shows "MozillaDeveloperPreview" when it groups windows. A search of the admin install point found this text in the updater.ini file. I ran strings against Firefox.exe and also found this text in that output. Looks like something...

Re: Grouped windows in CE changes to Tumucumaque
In your admin install what do the branding files have in them? Any mention of Tumucumaque?
<admin install point>\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\chrome\en-US\locale\branding
What about in the install location?
C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\chrome\en-US\locale\branding

Re: FM Firefox CE 6.0.2 en US, first run page error
How are you doing the admin install? I can force that error by setting the admin installation directory to the same directory the MSI is located in. For example: MSI in C:\Temp and select C:\Temp as the admin install "Enter a new network location" directory. If it's not that then you can write an MS...

Re: FM Firefox CE 6.0.2 en US, first run page error
The URL has an extra "projects" section which shouldn't be there. I just checked in the en-US standard and community Frontmotion editions and this is only happening in the community edition. DraconPern will need to fix the MSI. If you need to deploy right now you can do an administrative install and...

Re: Disable the What's New Page
Haven't tried it but homepage_override_url. Do an admin install Set the above value to "ignore" in Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\defaults\pref\firefox-branding.js Let us know what happens. :D You could check if the Frontmotion Community Edition lets you set this value via policy. I don't know if it ...

Re: Do not make Firefox default browser during installation
Hate to drag this thread up again but there's been a change with FF6.0.1 as Firefox is set to check if it's the default browser on startup. To fix this create an admin install by executing msiexec.exe /a Firefox-6.0.1-xx.msi Browse to Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\defaults\pref and edit firefox.js. ...

Re: Default Browser (default INSTALLEVEL changed in 3.6.16)
Have you tried this without the GPO distribution to hide and confuse things? Manually install older FF version and select Custom. You should see the Set Default Browser task set to unavailable if you haven't modified the MSI. Set IE as default. Set Feature-->F_SetDefaultBrowser entry's "Level" to 3 ...
