AD Morphed Folders!

Post by srechtman » Wed Aug 01, 2012 9:34 am

MS support has recently run a health check on our AD forest and all child domains. Our child domain was flagged as having some Morphed Folders and when I checked on this I found these:

02/06/2012 10:53 AM <DIR> Applications_NTFRS_527b6429
Directory of
\Policies\{4A5F1CCE-FACF-408C-83E6-61C12B2D479C}\Machine\Applications_NTFRS_527b6429
02/06/2012 10:53 AM <DIR> Documents & Settings_NTFRS_527b563e
02/06/2012 10:53 AM <DIR> Scripts_NTFRS_527b5350
Directory of
\Policies\{4A5F1CCE-FACF-408C-83E6-61C12B2D479C}\User\Documents & Settings_NTFRS_527b563e Directory of
\Policies\{4A5F1CCE-FACF-408C-83E6-61C12B2D479C}\User\Scripts_NTFRS_527b5350
Directory of
\Policies\{4A5F1CCE-FACF-408C-83E6-61C12B2D479C}\User\Scripts_NTFRS_527b5350\Logoff
Directory of
\Policies\{4A5F1CCE-FACF-408C-83E6-61C12B2D479C}\User\Scripts_NTFRS_527b5350\Logon
02/06/2012 10:51 AM <DIR> Applications_NTFRS_527b6429

There were 6 total policies that showed up with _NTFRS in the folder name and each policy is associated with firefox.adm which I downloaded from here. As far as I know the policies are working just fine, but I don't know how they made these morphed folders. Also the MS guy said that there shouldn't be anything with the name Documents & Settings in SYSVOL. Does this firefox.adm create the Documents & Settings entries? Is there a simple fix to remove these morphed folders? Has anyone else run into this problem?

Thanks

Nevermind, after deleting and recreating these GPO's I was able to clear up the morphed folders.

Thanks!

Probably those got left over by someone doing testing. ;)
