Firefox corporate rollout

Post by naomi » Wed Oct 24, 2012 10:26 pm

Does anyone have experience rolling out a customised version of Firefox via group policy?
We also need some kind of mechanism to lock down what websites are visited. I am thinking we need to create an admin install with Easy Whitelist installed and pre-configured.

Anybody have any input or suggestions for us?

Thanks
Naomi

I restrict access through OpenDNS. And block access to proxy/VPN/etc. servers through a variety of methods to prevent individuals getting around those blocks.

Yes. I do.

We control website access at the boundary of our network, using a firewall and HTTP proxy server we run. Doing it in the browser is a poor approach. It's too easy to get around; config failures may lead to a security exposure; you have to do it for each computer and each browser program.
