msi install doesn't automatically remove extensions

Hi, when I run the msi install using GPO in active directory, it doesn't seem to remove the third party extensions like the official installer from http://www.mozilla.org does whenever you do an install to upgrade from an earlier version.

Therefore I need to create a new user profile everytime an upgrade version takes place on my workstation. Luckily I'm the only one that uses extensions with firefox. So only I need to do it but it is annoying and should be fixed.

Is there a setting I can change in the msi file so that I can have it automatically disable third party extensions like the regular firefox installer from http://www.mozilla.org does?

Third party extensions are removed if they are installed globally. Nothing can be done for user extensions because there can be N number of users.

What if firefox did a check for extensions in your user profile and automatically disabled ones that it deemed were in compatable? Does Firefox 1.5 do this? If so, then the problem is solved right their.
