FrontMotion Firefox Community Edition version 1.5.0.1 is ready!
http://www.frontmotion.com/Firefox/fmfirefox.htm
In regards to deployment, this MSI now installs the VC++2003 dependencies (msvcr71.dll and msvcp71.dll) inside the firefox directory instead of system32. This was changed per MS's recommendation ( http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/en-us ... raries.asp ) and this also means no more reboots will be required in future deployments.

Hi,
We have recently upgraded our FFCE from 1.0.7 to 1.5. Now that 1.5.0.1 is released, I'm thinking how soon we should do another upgrade.
Currently when our users launch FFCE, they will be surfing the Internet as a basic user. We restrict users' privileges through the Software Restriction Policies (SAFER).
Since we are surfing the Internet without administrative privileges, can I say that my users would be relatively safe from the reported vulnerabilities in 1.5 and we do not need to plan for another upgrade soon?
Thanks for any help!

I generally recommend upgrading and tracking the official version as close as possible. Currently there are no malware based on the vulnerabilities. Even without admin privilege, data accessible by the user can still be damaged. If you don't want to upgrade now, the next upgrade will probably 2.x.

File version of executable
Just a minor point but the file version of the executable when right clicking and looking at the properties is 0.0.0 this makes version checking using products such as Oval - Open Vulnerability and Assessment Language tricky because it shows as an older product. The product version shows as 1.5 which is ok.
Its quite minor but maybe this could be fixed in the next release ?
