Which extensions do you want to see in the MSI?

Post by DraconPern » Sun Jul 23, 2006 2:53 am

I am building a system to custom bulid MSI's with extensions. The system will let you choose which ones to bundle, then you click 'build' and after awhile, an MSI with your specified combination of extension is downloadable. If this works well, there may be a possiblity to even upload arbitrary extensions.

These are currently in the list
adblock-05-dev.xpi
adblock_filterset.g_updater-0.3.0.4-fx+fl+mz+ns.xpi
bookmark_duplicate_detector-0.5.0-fx.xpi
downbar.xpi <- this appears to be broken
fasterfox-1.0.3-fx.xpi
forecastfox-0.9.3-fx+fl+mz+ns+zm.xpi
foxclocks-1.2.77-fx+sb+tb.xpi
ietab-1.0.9.5-fx+fl+mz-windows.xpi
mr_tech_local_install-5.2-fx+fl+mz+ns+nv+zm+sb+tb.xpi
pdf_download-0.7.5-fx+fl.xpi
PlainOldFavorites_0.5.6.1.xpi
searchbar_autosizer-1.1-fx.xpi
tab_mix_plus-0.3.0.5-fx.xpi

So, what other extensions do you like to see included in the list?

Hi,
For me, it would be great to have :
- FasterFox
- IE Tab
- Tab Mix Plus
- AdBlock
- Adblock Filterset.G Updater
- MR Tech Local Install
- FoxClock
- ForecastFox

And of course the flash plugin.

Thanks

Hi There,

Great work! Thank you!
As for plugins:
-DivX
-Expressview
-EzMathML
-Flash
-QuickTime
-RealPlayer
-Shockwave
-Java

I know some of them are not "real" plugins, yet they need to work with firefox and IE through GPO install.

Daniel.

Yup, still working on it. It's a fairly complicated project since the backend system are windows/asp and the frontend to the system is php

OK, thanks for the reply.
I won't discuss about the ease or not of this project as I'm not a developer at all :)

Thanks anyway for your efforts.

I use a very small extension that I'd really like to vote in, called "resize search box". The darn thing is way too small to be useful in it's default state...

I'd add PDF Download, Download Status Bar, NoScript, Image Zoom and Web Developer Toolbar to CGirardy's list.

The custom build system is working and I need some people to test it out. I am picking a few users from this topic along with some of the extensions listed here for testing. If you are interested, please reply with a list of extensions you like to use.

Thanks!

Count me as interested in testing. Most of my preferred extentions have already been mentioned: IE Tab, PDF Download
