The Fox, 1.5.0.7

Post by Phreak » Thu Sep 21, 2006 11:27 am

I've recently taken over Active Directory duties at my job, and am also responsible for package creation/deployment. I found this site for the first time while I was updating all our old packages and used the 1.5.0.6 msi with great success and joy (aka great job!). With that said, just wondering if there's an ETA for 1.5.0.7 You put together a great package (single file, whoo!) and make my life mucho easier!

Thanks,
PhreaK

I second that and would be really happy to see a 1.5.0.7 package in english and french
Really great job. I've been trying to make my own package but I'm still not pleased at all with the results.......
I think I'm gonna have to giveup and wait for your releases.
Thanks again

Still Uploading

I don't mean to be a pest but are you still planning to upload the Community Edition of 1.5.0.7 anytime soon? I see that the regular version is available for download in a variety of languages, but we need the Community Edition to push out via Group Policy.

Thanks for the great job you've been doing!

I push the regular MSI (not CE) through group policy, just wondering what your main use for the CE version is and why you use it over the regular MSI version.

Thanks!

The CE version has built in adminitrative template support so you can manage homepage, proxy location, security settings, etc.

Why we use Community Version

Post by Cliff » Tue Oct 03, 2006 7:57 am

In our case, we use the associated group policy snap in to set the location and size of the cache, so they do not end up in the roaming profile by default. (Our MIS dept. requires that we use roaming profiles.) We also use the snap in to determine the behavior of firefox when a link is opened from an external source.
