Firefox German MSI doesn't work

Post by e2e4 » Mon Nov 13, 2006 7:44 am

Salut,

I did try to install "Mozilla2.0 MSI GERMAN" (http://www.frontmotion.com/Firefox/) but I doesn't work. I downloaded the package and created an test-OU. Security options are all configured. Local call from the share with the options "/L*v C:\FFmsiTest.log" does work.

When I provide the software I got the error 119 in the eventviewer with the advice of language problems. That is suprising me, because I activated the hook with "ignore the language settings". Furthermore I installed "ORCA" from the MS Platform SDK and changed MSI-Property-Table "ProductLanguage" from "1033" to "1031". Same problem.

Whats wrong?

If you change the value of 'ProductLanguage' in the Property table, it has to be in the summary information also.

Which is why it's both set to 1033 at the moment.

Are you creating a translation of the strings? If so, can you send me the transform?

The translation can be done by using a tool from the Windows Installer SDK called 'Orca' The information for it is http://support.microsoft.com/kb/255905
