Flash Problems

Post by Cliff » Wed Jul 11, 2007 2:19 pm

I have run into an issue with the Flash portion of the FrontMotion MSI. Version 6 of Flash keep turning up on our PCs. It appears that the FM MSI installs this version of Flash. Is that correct?

If so, I would like to disable the Flash portion of the installation. Flash 6 is playing havoc with a web site my group maintains. I am planning to push Flash 9 to my users so they will not lack access to this plugin.

Any thoughts? Your help is appreciated.

The Firefox MSI's all come with Flash 9.0.28 as a plugin in C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\plugins. It doesn't install the internet explorer (ActiveX) version.

Since the new flash 9.0.47 fixes a security hole, could you update FFCE? I have deployed an Active-X Flash MSI-package for IE and there is an MSI for Mozillas, too. Will installing the newer plugin for Firefox mess something up? If you don't update, what's going to happen to the updated plugin when I deploy your next release of FFCE?

That scenario should be ok. Next release will include 9.0.47
