Firefox is already running Error.

Post by devonoah » Fri Feb 08, 2008 2:04 pm

All.

I just installed firefox community edition via GPO. It works when only running on one machine. When i try to open it on multiple machines i get an error stating:

Firefox is already running but not responding. To open a new window, you must first close the existing process.

This is weird because there is no instance of firefox running on this machine. When i close the browser on the other machine it will open fine on the machine that gave me the error.

This obviously won't work for us. We want to deploy this on many machines in our classrooms.

Has anyone else run into this error?

What should i do?

Thanks

Can you be more specific on your AD setup? Like profile, versions, etc?

We are running win2k3 active directory using roaming profiles. I did an administrative install to a shared directory then deployed firefox CE through a group policy. Am i getting this error because of the admin install? I don't get it.

It's probably the roaming profile. Somehow Your local temp directory is being used on the server
