Firefox 3.6.4

Post by DragonHawk » Tue Jun 22, 2010 8:24 pm

FYI: Firefox 3.6.4 is out as of Tue 22 June 2010. Release notes. Big new feature is out-of-process plugins, so that (e.g.) Flash crashing won't take out the whole browser.

This is looking like a great new feature in Firefox.

It is. At home, I've been using this Firefox feature since it was still in the "nightly build" stage of development, and it was *still* more stable than 3.6.3, just because Flash was isolated from the rest of the browser.

It looks like 3.6.6 will be coming shortly. Someone just went public with a security bug; still present in 3.6.4. Depending on how soon Mozilla gets that release out, DraconPern may want to just wait until 3.6.6 before building the next FM FF MSI.

And yes, the next release of Firefox will be 3.6.6, not 3.6.5.
