Network Connectivity

Post by Scratch » Tue Mar 08, 2005 11:06 am

Hi,

Just like to start by saying FM is the coolest thing I have found on the web for ages :D

Anyhow, on to the realy stuff - would it be possible to have an icon displaying information about the network status of the machine? :D

Its really annoying to for people when they go to a machine and its dropped off the network for some reason and most people get mad and we then get moaned at / slagged off as a result.

However I do understand their frustration!!

(Please bear in mind that I want to use this within an AD environment within a school)

Thanks,

:)

Checking the network status can't be done yet. A possible idea for the future is a mini http server that serves xml/data from plugins. Flash/scripts can then communicate with it using the XMLSocket object.

Ok,

No worries. It would just be a really useful and simple diagnostic tool - which could be used by anyone.

Thanks.

:D
