i was hoping this software would allow the user to establish a Remote Desktop Session to a remote computer without logging in to the local workstation first. Is it possible a "theme" could be developed that would give it this functionality?

If flash allows to use ActiveX controls - then yes, since Remote Desktop connection is done via COM object.
