I have same problem. I'm using the latest version (1.1.1.52). This has happened with different versions of frontmotion and with and without sp2. When I login it processes the login correctly and after that the background image appears and then nothing happens. I can move cursor but I can't use ctrl+alt+del for example. The only resolution is reset-button.

It seems that if I log in immediately after login screen appearing then it works right but if I wait some time before logging in then it seems to freeze sometimes. Could this be some kind of buffer overflow? Or maybe some loop problem?

IE don't load

Post by Vita » Sun Nov 07, 2004 10:23 pm

I have established yours the program FMLogin-1.1.1.52.msi, but there were some problems. Namely - after loading your program, it is necessary to wait for some time, and already then to enter the user and password. If to enter all data at once, the system correctly is not loaded, that is is not loaded even explorer, it is visible only wallpapper. How with it to struggle? :?:

My computer froze again. This time I happened to check how hard drive was behaving and it sounded same as when loading windows normally. The only thing is that nothing showed up. I tried right mouse button several times and every time the harddrive started spinning so there seems to be some kind of life. Could it be that it loads ok but doesn't start taskbar? That could explain the above mentioned things. When I have had to use reset when my computer froses there has been sometimes open files so it seems it starts to load computer at least partially.

DraconPern: could you send me version which has the logging on so maybe we could find the cause for this thing?

I take it the new version still has the same problem? This is pretty odd... I believe it has something to do with the Windows Installer. Do you have applications that continously tries to 'repair' itself, or run the windows installer?

I don't think so. In the newest version I can log in if I do it right after all pubbles appear in login screen but if I wait for some time so that hard drive starts to do things then most of my logins have failed. I'm not sure but sometimes if I wait really long time before doing login it seems to success (not sure about this).

I'm not sure if this helps but I have included list of services which are in my computer:

Here's what I've found concerning this problem............ if I use the Enter key after password input, nothing loads past the wall, and cursor. If I use the mouse after password, everything is fine. I know that sounds strange, but that's how it works on my machine.

anon

happens to me too

Hmm, this seems to help me. I haven't had lockups for a long time.
