How to add add-ons into Installation File

Post by dt2009 » Thu Jun 20, 2013 7:03 am

Hi Everyone,

good day, i hope everyone is fine. And to all of you finding the time to read my post many thanks in advance.

I have just downloaded the FF 21 msi and was wondering if it possible to integrate 2 add-ons into the installation file for mass-distribution, one is https://addons.mozilla.org/de/firefox/addon/noscript/ and https://addons.mozilla.org/de/firefox/addon/mozrepl/ .

And if yes, how do you do this? Do i need to install FF first manually and then change the .cfg? But if that's the case, wouldn't i need to wrap my own msi package then again?

Or could i use a program (like for example superorca) do change the unopened msi manually?

And if it isnt possible to add addons automatically can i somehow set something like a automatic plugin/script block, wherein the users have to manually confirm "running a script" on sites?

Sorry if these are real amateur questions and lots of thanks in advance for any hints or help.

best wishes and a pleasant day to you all

cheers

david

FrontMotion offers a service, their "Firefox Packager", which will let you bundle add-ons and stuff into custom MSIs. It's not free, but it is inexpensive.

I'm sure there are other ways (FrontMotion had to figure out how to do it in the first place), but that's all I know.
