Manual uninstall of FMFireFox 13
Something happened to my FMFirefox 13 install where it doesn't launch anymore. When I try to install FMFirefoxCE 26, it keeps looking for the version 13 install and says
"The older version of FrontMotion Firefox Community Edition (en-US) cannot be removed. Contact your technical support group."
How do I manually uninstall the older version?
It doens't show up in Add/Remove Programs
I already deleted the directory it was in (C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox)
And I went through the registry and deleted references to Firefox.
Please help.

Is this happening on only one computer or a lot of computers?

One easy fix is to reinstall the old version, then do an upgrade. Be sure to use the same language also.

Re: Manual uninstall of FMFireFox 13
I tried that and didn't work.
Downloaded FMFirefoxCE-13.0-en-US.msi which is the exact version it is complaining about and when I tried to install it, I get the following:
"The older version of FrontMotion Firefox Community Edition (en-US) cannot be removed. Contact your technical support group."
This is only happening on 1 client computer. Murphy's law however dictates that it has to be the CEO of the company's computer of course...

What is the installer looking for when checking if there is an existing version installed or not?
That's what we have to get rid of.

Re: Manual uninstall of FMFireFox 13
Under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Installer\Features. Do a find for Firefox and remove the key.
Do the same for
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Installer\Products
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall
That should clear it all out.

I've cleared out the registry of all 'firefox' entries and tried installing version 26 and still get the same message:
"The older version of FrontMotion Firefox Community Edition (en-US) cannot be removed. Contact your technical support group"

Re: Manual uninstall of FMFireFox 13
Please run the msi install with logging turned on and give me a copy so I can see what's failing.
The command line is msiexec /i firefox-version.msi /L*V "C:\log\example.log"
please use your msi version and a better location for the log.

Ok I have the log file but it won't let me attach it to this post. Says the extension log is not allowed. It is a 1,212 KB file.
How should I get it to you?

Very strange error. Can you verify that the file you have is signed?
